2023 - 2024

Ben Cramer - President

I'm a senior undergraduate student from Madison studying Human Geography, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems, and pursuing a certificate in Organic Agriculture. I have been a member of the club since my freshman year and have really enjoyed the various connections I've made during meetings. In my free time, I volunteer by coaching football at a local high school and I enjoy spending time with my family.

Simone Schneider - Vice President

I’m a senior undergraduate from Washington, DC studying Cartography/GIS, People-Environment Geography, and Environmental Studies with a certificate in Public Policy. My favorite part about Geography Club has been the chance to really connect with others in the major and strengthen my ties within the department. I particularly enjoyed our bowling social last year and the opportunity to travel to Denver and present at the 2023 AAG Conference!

Ian Bohachek - Treasurer

I am a junior undergraduate student from Cross Plains, WI studying Cartography/GIS, People-Environment Geography, and Environmental Studies, with a certificate in German. I have been in the club since I started college, and I’ve really enjoyed the variety of activities and things that we do in the club, especially the geography quizzes and pumpkin carving social. I also enjoy coordinating the club’s Geography Cow merch, it’s great to see everyone representing Wisconsin Geography!

Sophia Whitehead - Social Media

I’m a senior undergraduate student from Milwaukee, WI currently studying People-Environment Geography and Theater & Drama. Having been a part of Geography Club since freshman year, my favorite part is the amazing community we’ve created where everyone at all levels in the field can come share their experiences and make friends in a common space. I especially enjoy the department donut socials because so many people from the department tend to stop by along with students.

Will McAllister - Travel Coordinator

I’m a sophomore from Columbia, Missouri studying Cartography/GIS and People-Environment Geography with a certificate in Environmental Studies. I joined the club shortly after coming to Madison and have really enjoyed my time so far! My favorite parts are the community we have, quizzes, and professional opportunities from CCGs and panel discussions.

Ella Matz - Communications

I’m a junior undergraduate student from Columbia, Maryland currently studying Cart/GIS, People-Enviromint Geography, and getting a certificate in Computer Science. I have been in the club since the beginning of my sophomore year, which has allowed me to meet people with similar interests and find opportunities I wouldn’t otherwise have. I particularly enjoy discussing classes in common, our study social around finals last year, and our bowling social at The Sett.

Kendall Johnson - Badger Maps

I’m a junior undergraduate student from Ellendale, MN studying Cartography/GIS and Human Geography with a certificate in Public Policy. I recently joined the club during spring semester of my sophomore year, and the great community paired with potential opportunities have made me excited to be a part of the board! This fall, I spent the semester in Washington, D.C. through the Wisconsin in Washington Program, and I can’t wait to bring my new experiences back to the Club!

Alex Seungmin Lee - Badger Maps

I'm a sophomore undergraduate studying Agronomy. My favorite part of Geography Club has been the discussion of maps and their importance to aspects of life we normally don't think about, such as its use in politics or in misinformation.
